We had a great weekend as a family and are enjoying lots of quality time together. We went to Lake Louise and rode the gondola to the top to see the Larch trees. It was an adventure and the boys got to try out some winter gear- yeah winter! (Can you hear my enthusiasm?)
This week Kai told Jeff that he was “getting better at things” while Jeff hog tied Kai to get his slippers on. This statement also came just hours before Jeff watched Kai speed down a gravel hill on his bike and failed to catch him before he took a massive tumble. So this “getting better at things” is definitely relative.
Connor is one rough toddler! He’s into hitting Kai anytime he can and he follows him around all the time… Kai is learning how to deal with this but it’s slow torture for all of us.
Kai has been testing out his authority level in the House of Q which leads to tantruming, tears, screaming and “break” times for Kai. He has started to show us that 3 years old was way easier than 4 years old will be. I’ve heard from like 10 people in the last 7 days that it’s the “terrible 2’s” but the “f**king 4s”!! Really? Serious? Can’t I just skip this stage?
Jeff continues to take the deepest, longest breaths at dinner and does it continuously… it’s a bit concerning. A very apparent physical attempt to slow down his heart rate, calm his insides and to not “lose it” as chicken, tomatoes and cheese ping off his cheek, forehead and ear!
And me? The Mom of Q… well, let’s just say I’ve never appreciated my OT work more and then at work I’ve never appreciated my family more. If only I could have an hour of uninterrupted me-time… that’s on my Christmas wish list this year.
