I heard myself say this more than once this past Saturday as we tried out renting a 3rd child (i.e., babysitting for Matt and Kim). We would be fine to add another played to our team if our third child was as lovely as Coleson Telford. He’s quiet yet assertive, cuddly but independent – he was a delight and we only dropped him once (off the slide) and he may have tasted a few sticks while I wasn’t watching ( Coleson literally clamped those teeth down so tight, that my finger sweep was useless!).
However, I am VERY happy to report that Coleson held his own in the House of Q despite a few dicey moments and constant reminders to Kai and sometimes Connor to be gentle to our friends. I think Coleson loved watching the House of Q antics and he fit right in.
So we had a great weekend with the Telfords. We stampeded it up, stayed up way past our bedtimes, negotiated morning shifts to entertain the kids, ate lots of great food and enjoyed some beers at Craft Beer Market- it was great!
The kids love having visitors and I am definitely scared for Tuesday morning when Kai realizes it’s just me to play with and no one else is around. He was spun, flipped, twirled, chased, chaser etc… it was non-stop action for this little boy and now it’s back to reality - ouch!
Connor also loved all the action. He held his own and is walking 80% of the time now. He accepted food from Coleson during snack time, crawled into Matt and Kim’s laps when Jeff and I were busy and learned to collapse in bed after staying up way past his bedtime too!
Next… a few weeks of rest (yah right!) and then to Ontario for a full-on adventure.
Just a few highlights:
-Connor and Coleson holding hands from their car seats during the Calgary driving tour.
-Kai encouraging Coleson to come watch a Movie on the iPad – coaxing him with his outstretched hands.
-Kim teaching the boys the phrase, “sharing is caring!”
-Renewing my love of corn dogs (these things tasted awesome).
-Mini-doughnuts and deep fried Oreos = ‘nuff said!
-Kim and I taking off like 2 teenagers, in Kim's little bro's jacked up Jeep and heading to … Safeway!! Exciting times for us Mom’s! (P.s. Safeway is like 2 blocks away and we were giddy like school girls to get out and buy prunes, homo milk and berries!) What happened to us?
