I have decided to take a year leave of absence from my full time OT job working in School Health to work for 3 days a week with children aged 0-5 at the Child Development Centre (CDC).
It was a big decision because I love what I do, the people I do it with and the schedule BUT... with 2 little Q people at home, Jeff and I got to thinking it would be nice to have a slow transition back into full time work, and full time chaos.
So I applied, interviewed and accepted a job for one year contract working at the CDC in Calgary which is part of Alberta Children's Hospital. It will be a good change and although I'll miss all my colleagues at School Health, it will only be a year and I'll be back to work with them in no time.
I have to thank all my supportive references and good friends for all the chats. I think I knew what was going to work and luckily I didn't stress too much but it was a big decision that had to be made in a short time so that is both nerve wracking and exciting because when it all falls into place- it must be the right thing !!
So now my plan is to have some days with the kids, some working days and some days with all four of us enjoying family time.
I'll also be able to keep blogging... and you can read about it...who knows... maybe I will manage to screw them up, the kids that is... it's really only been a year for the youngest... still lots of time!
If nothing else in life, one thing's for sure... everything changes! and... Life happens while you're making other plans. Right now we are excited and welcoming some change and a new challenge for us at The House of Q!
