At first, I didn’t have anything interesting to write about after the last 3 days… that is until the dinner hour HIT tonight! Like a slap across the face the dinner hour was upon us and tonight was particularly INSANE! Connor started screaming early, and Kai started in just after. Jeff and I were in the kitchen frantically pulling off culinary miracles. Jeff had to cook tonight and was losing it because of the 4 meals per meal thing going on (This is VERY time-limited!!). I made a soup, “millet”strone and added ground chicken, Jeff made a cross between souvlaki and ground chicken stir-fry(?), Kai was somewhere in between and Connor had pasta smash (my invention- need to patent it!). But it was too much, too insane and each member of the house was raging. At the end of the meal the kitchen dining areas looked like a tornado had passed through.
So the House of Q pulled it off, but tomorrow I’m back to cooking and being more prepared!
In other updates:
Connor’s 9 months old!
Time is going quickly. Connor turned 9 months old today. He is charging right along with his development and he’s proving the theory of 2nd born kid tendencies i.e., “monkey see, monkey do”. He’s pulling up to stand on every and any ‘thing’ he can. He’s staying up late and having screaming parties in his crib and he’s screeching non-stop for attention during meals, play and sleep. When he succeeds in getting our attention, he acts all coy with a smile or swat at your face… I have the scratches to prove it…It’s lovely! He’s still the sweetest little thing so we just kiss his cheeks like crazy!!
Day 7 of elimination challenge:
I’m still going strong; a little hungry today and almost tucked into some banana bread yesterday but opted for rice crackers and hummus (yah willpower!).
I tried buckwheat porridge this morning and Goji berry nut balls yesterday – so it’s not too bad but it is all one big experiment! Thank you Colleen and Mom- you got suggested http://www.nourishingmeals.com/ and the recipes are amazing! The next few weeks should get tastier because of YOU!
