Today is our first day of rain and we're off to tour Christchurch. First stop... the Dance-o-mat! Yes, we all perfected our moves on the Dance-o-mat, in the rain, with no one watching. It was awesome! It turned our rainy, drab moods into a livey dance party where the beats didn't stop.
(The Dance-o-mat is part of Christchurch's new Gap Filler program that takes open spaces left empty from missing buildings caused by the earthquakes and turns them into spaces you can enjoy).
Most of you know that Kai has a little jig he does often and on demand...and Jeff and I have adapted previous 90's dance fads into jigs to call our own. But Kai's jig has significantly improved since performing for Candice and Mark. The Dance-o-mat proved very excellent for tweaking the style with the added element of rain and slippery-ness! Uncle Marky and Candice completed a pairs routine and Connor even got the "dip" from Dad and laughs and smiles could be heard and seen by many passersby.
We toured and loved what we saw being nurtured in Christchurch. Mark and Jeff took the boys to Quake City and Candice and I went to spend some $$$. It was mostly knick knacks that I bought but I loved checking out the very cool kiwi's styles! Someday I will "go big" and buy some kiwi designer labels.
In the end, the day saw some good food, lots of laughs and finally some shopping on my part! Candice was loving this new spend-a-rama I was on... needless to say I didn't buy nearly what I should've but honey and tea towels abound!
