It all began this morning when I found myself showered and dressed in real people clothes before leaving the house! Two things are amazing about this statement. 1. I showered and 2. I left the house!
But, first I wondered why it's called, "am"?
Wikipedia tells me is the latin short form for ante meridiem meaning "before midday". I think to myself, "Okay sounds good, before midday should be do-able".
(I'm sort of kidding)
The reality is that I've NEVER been a morning person. I have tried: I've pledged new years resolutions, read about "am" people and interviewed those morning types to learn their ways but my biology is not made of the same stuff. I loves the sleep in and am a night hawk by nature.
BUT I digress: What is the reason for wanting my ante meridiem's back?
Today I got up, did the mom thing with both kids (i.e., diapers, feeding, dressing, toothbrushing, etc.) and then I took a moment to myself. That's right, I showered. It was glorious and I began asking myself, why don't I do this more?
Next question: Why should I stick to this new "ante meridiem" me?
Simple: I was waaaayyy productive today! The day still went fast but I was able to get more done. I got to eat 2 breakfasts because I had been up since 6:30am, I wanted to be seen in public so I actually went Christmas shopping and I played with my 4 month old because I had "free time"- glorious!
So today I'm an "am" person... but tomorrow...anything can happen!
