It’s like the sweet scent of fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies, a warm cup of tea or a new piece of expensive clothing… you know the feeling … the grandparents have arrived!
The arrival brings happiness and joy to all of us in the House of Q.
Kai sprung out of bed the day they arrived, Connor was extremely pleasant and it’s only gotten better! Meals, morning drop offs and end of the day pickups are all simplified and eased as the in-laws have taken over!
We’ve been to the Calgary Farmers Market to stock up on amazing food and then we’ve been eating like royalty, thanks to Maryliz (the mother-in-law, MIL).
Connor has turned into one social little ham. Always eyeing up Gramma Lizzie or Grandpa for attention (batting his eyes as if to say, “Aren’t I cute?”. He’s eating like a champ and sleeping even better. It’s been amazing!
Kai is all over grandpa, “Grandpa this, grandpa that…”. They’ve played every game imaginable and interestingly enough, they’re both not sick of anything it yet. The best part, Kai wants Grandpa to help with everything- washroom, dressing, toy cleanup. So while Grandpa is double timing… Mom’s on holiday! It’s sweet! The grandparents visiting is almost better than a vacation in the sun…almost!
This weekend we’re off to Banff, for some time in the mountains. I can’t wait for another weekend in the mountains… it’s a treat for us all.
