It wasn’t pretty!

10 steps to experiencing the Sno-Marker:
1. Try to open RED Sno-Marker bottle quickly while inside at the back door wearing snow pants, down filled ski jacket, hat, scarf and mittens and snow covered boots. Start sweating, become irritable and more rushed.
2. Request scissors from “helpful” hubby who questions your actions.
3. Cut open packaging and attempt to “load” bottle with “safe non-toxic” chemical powder. Listen to 3 year old in the background demand we make the snow man NOW!!
4. Fumble with the red powder spilling it down your front, through your hands and onto floor. Floor is wet from snowy boots, red powder now looks like bright red blood and is ALL over the floor.
5. Quickly read fine print on bottle before Jeff comes running in response to cursing and screaming:
“Step 3: Use adult supervision. Be careful not to get Sno-Marker colouring on clothing, furniture or carpeting”… I can now add to the list; “any type of flooring or skin”.
6. Politely and sweetly ask Jeff to bring vacuum, cleaner and paper towel. Spend the next 20 minute frantically cleaning while Jeff watches over you asking, “What happened?” and you repeatedly telling Kai, “Yep, we’re building a snow man right now”.
7. Wash hands 3 times in a row and lose battle against the bright red stained hands.
8. Laugh hysterically once outside as you attempt to use red Sno-Marker on snow and avoid clothing/hands/boots etc. Attempt to force Kai to take a turn! (He wanted nothing to do with it...so then...)
9. Admire the dotted art work produced with Sno-Marker… smile in pleasure at sweet 2D helicopter drawn in the snow with Sno-Marker (try to forget original plan for snow man!).
10. Wrap up the experience by cleaning up more red "blood" off items you missed the first time and think to yourself: Who gave you this stuff? …Then recall...it was the grandparents! Smile at their good natured, thoughtful gift giving and then remember they gave you purple “bubbles” last year around the same time which produced a similar experience. Make mental note: Smile nicely when given fun “colour” presents and then re-gift asap!!!
