Kai helped me with gardening on Tuesday and I laughed at my attempt to garden without getting dirty!!! Then there was Kai; covered from head to toe. We harvested the spinach, planted more spinach and took a stab at de-weeding before watering our “food forest”. Kai was right into it. Yesterday, Jeff and Kai started their potato condo with… mouldy potatoes! I’ll keep you posted on that one… something I read indicated that the potato would have “at least one pathogen”- not cool, but we’ll try anything. All I can say is watch out for the potatoes at the House of Q!
We also got a new push mower and I’m officially mowing the lawn… yep! Jeff’s made me into a domestic goddess. I’ve been hanging laundry, cooking gourmet meals and now… mowing the lawn! I’m unstoppable. What could possibly be next?
Connor is still giving it his all… he’s been after anything long and dangerous that he can get his hands on including but not limited to; a spatula, Kai’s golf club, a stick and most excitingly - a knife! (don’t ask!). He loves balls of all shapes and sizes and chases them wherever they go. He even plunged head first into the kiddie pool to retrieve his sunken golf ball- we’ve got a risk taker here!
So we’re getting ready for more guests, Kim, Matt and Coleson Telford arrive tonight. Matt called last night to confirm his reservation at the House of Q. We told him that all the “fun things” to do in Calgary were flooded out including; the zoo, rafting down the Bow River and golfing in Kananaskis. But we highlighted the kiddie pool in the backyard and the potato condo! So we’re not issuing refunds!
We are really looking forward to stampeding with them and have already included disclosure agreements exempting our responsibility for any harm, emotional or physical shock their child may experience after being exposed to the loud, rough and occasionally mouthy Q boys… so I can’t speak for Jeff but I am feeling pretty good about it.
Hopefully we don’t have to pay for his future counseling bills…
