Today has started like any other. I am finally getting my morning tea. I've
been able to change, and go to the washroom before attending to the needs of
everyone else. Today Kai continues to be sick sick sick and requesting a
"cuddle and huggy" every 30seconds. Connor is his usually cheerful self; smiles
and cute noises abound but I'm glad he's finally down for his morning nap. Jeff
made it to work, taking the car but experienced a minor freak out after watching
Kai sneeze all over his side of the bed and in an attempt to help him, he
touched some used tissues! (Heaven forbid!!).
Today I'm starting this blog so I can infuse some added purpose into my 2nd
maternity leave. I love being "off" from my formal empolyment and I feel that I
have more purpose to discover. I've spent the first 2.5 years of my now-toddlers
life trying to find balance in my life but now I'm wondering what more there is
for me as I embark on another year away from my chosen profession. I love my
paid job working with children as an occupational therapist (OT) and I love
watching Connor and Kai grow and develop ( child development is amazing!) but
what about my creative pursuits and the "me-time". There must be a way... so
I've decided to read and learn and ... blog. I am not sure I'll be any good at
the last but after thinking about this and not "doing", I'm finally going to
just do...
My life is about boys, not just any boys but my Quigley boys. My life seems
simple yet it's chaotic. I love it and embrace it, the only thing I wish is for
a little more me time! Yeah right, maybe in 33 years as my mother-in-law and I
laughed about on Monday! My blogging goals: create more "me" time, act on my
creative vision(s) and share my OT perspective of the Quigley life.
Join me as I share the ups and downs of my daily life as I learn, live and
grow with my Quigley boys!
